Wall beds have been gaining in popularity. Likely because no one enjoys clutter and people have realized that organizing and making the most of their space is important to the success of their household and family. In condos and small houses, second or third bedrooms often take on multiple roles including dens, offices, craft rooms, sewing rooms, playrooms, or exercise rooms.
Why a Murphy Bed?
The brilliant and space-saving invention of a Murphy wall bed comes in handy! A spare bed normally occupies 30 square feet of floor space. Tucking the bed away in a wall bed cabinet allows for better use of the remainder of the room. The 16” depth cabinet holds a regular coil mattress and the counter-balanced mechanism is lightweight enabling anyone, from ages 6 to 86, to lift the bed with ease.
We carry both the Elite Aluminum and Supreme Steel Systems for custom wall beds. These offer both the vertical tilt in single, double, queen and king sizes as well as a side tilt in the single, double and queen size. The wall bed has a variety of leg sizes to accommodate the different mattress sizes in the market. The regular leg works with a 10” thick mattress, the extended leg works with the 12” mattress and the long leg is designed to hold the pillow top mattress up to 15” thick.
These Murphy beds can be sold as a unit alone, as a custom wall bed system with a desk, or let us create further function with custom cabinetry designed to accommodate any other space needs in the room.
